Important observation about class size
For Gaokao level, having several, up to 20 students in the classroom is ideal. Why?
- Students can learn to edit English better, seeing teammates’ short essays being improved.
- Students can get many new ideas by seeing teammates’ work: benefiting from many different styles and conventions.
- Students become better English writers and editors by seeing as many works and editing jobs as possible. One person? It’s just you.
- When asked questions in the classroom, it’s a great way to practice speaking English in front of others.
- With the group’s WeChat forum, students can connect together and help each other. Chairman Mao Zedong called it solidarity!
- For English writing and editing, students in groups have better outcomes over time.
